John Stott: The Humble Leader by Julia Cameron

Trial Blazers are a series of books about the lives of Christians throughout history. They include books on John Bunyan, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Amy Carmichael, William Wilberforce, Martin Luther, D L Moody, Richard Wurmbrand, Hudson Taylor, John Newton, Joni Eareckson Tada. John Stott, Corrie Ten Boom and many more. Available as single books or as box sets, they are aimed at 9-11 year also, but could also be a lighter adult read to learn about the lives of different Christians.

I recently came across and read the Trial Blazers book about John Stott, who I knew of as an English Anglican cleric and theologian noted as a leader of the worldwide evangelical movement. In 2005, Time magazine ranked Stott among the 100 most influential people in the world. Billy Graham said of John Stott “He represents a touchstone of authentic biblical scholarship that, in my opinion, has scarcely been paralleled since the days of the 16th-century European Reformers.”

One reviewer wrote “This was a wonderful overview of the life and ministry of great man of God. I highly recommend the book for those who want a shorter but authentic and inspiring biography of John Stott.”
