Twenty Three Tales by Leo Tolstoy

Twenty Three Tales by Leo Tolstoy

If Tolstoy’s classic book “War and Peace” or some of his other longer books have never appealed for a quick light read, you may be surprised by his book “Twenty three Tales.”

These 23 short stories make for light but interesting and intriguing reading. Some are original stories by Tolstoy and some are adaptations of folk tales of the time.

Most of the stories have a Christian theme that focuses on morality, delving into the lives of contemporary Russian classes, exploring themes of love, social justice, and spiritual awakening, but in unusual ways.

Not heavy reading, each story can be read quite quickly.
